Barcelona have several high-profile friendlies lined up as part of their annual pre-season tour of the United States, with the most notable being their clash with Real Madrid in New Jersey. Back in Catalonia, they will play their curtain-raiser in the Joan Gamper Trophy, which will be against AS Monaco this year.
As revealed by MD, the Ligue 1 team has agreed to take part in the match, which will be played on August 12 at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic. Monaco had been due to play in the French Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain in Beijing a few days earlier, but that match was postponed to a later date.
The match against Monaco will be Hansi Flick's first match as Barcelona manager on home soil, and will hope to start with a win. Tottenham Hotspur were defeated in the 2023 match, and the Catalans are aiming for another success in their quest for the best possible preparation for the 2024-25 season.
