Barcelona hopes to return to the return of the Liga 1:1 before next summer's transfer window opens at the beginning of July. If they can finally do it, their efforts to strengthen Hansi Flick's team are more likely to succeed.
The planning of the transfer window is already underway, and is led by sporting director Deco. He has been in contact with Flick on the matter, and second Sportboth agree that it is a priority for the club to sign a new right and a new left-back.
Full-back is an area that Barcelona have struggled in the last two seasons. Jules Kounde has been tremendous on the right, but is expected to eventually return to being used as a central defender. In left, Alejandro Balde is a nailed down starter because he doesn't have enough competition.
It remains to be seen who Barcelona go for next summer, but Flick and Deco will be determined to ensure that the signings made are the best possible in the circumstances.
