Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong will miss the rest of the season after being strained during their 3-2 defeat at Real Madrid on Sunday night, adding insult to injury. The time out of the Dutch midfielder is still unknown, but if this is the case, then it will be a minimum of a month.
De Jong's toe made contact with Fede Valverde in a sharp challenge just before half-time in El Clasico, with the back of his foot being defeated, which left de Jong on the floor. He ended up being tired and replaced by Pedri. Brand they say that there is no certainty about his injury for now, but that it is a given that he will miss Barcelona's remaining six games against Valencia, Girona, Real Sociedad, Almeria, Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla.

Of course, the big question for de Jong will be whether he misses the Euros with the Netherlands now. There is just over two weeks between the last day of the season and the start of the Euros in Germany. Give de Jong around six weeks to prove his fitness to Ronald Koeman, if that is indeed a possibility.
