Barcelona will be forced to sell this summer to be able to get back into their salary cap, and from their perspective, make some moves in the transfer market. While there appear to be some obvious candidates for major departures, the Blaugrana are not closing the door on a number of players leaving, including Alejandro Balde.
Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha have been mentioned as potential opportunities for the Blaugrana to cash in, but a number of other players could be on the chopping block if the right offer comes along. It is the case of Balde, which is currently. out injured until the end of the season. The 20-year-old burst onto the scene last year, replacing Jordi Alba and making Spain's 2022 World Cup squad, but has struggled to repeat that form this season. MD they say that if a high bid for Balde comes in, then they will evaluate it, even if they are not planning a sale.
Last summer it was rumored that Manchester City was interested in him, but he ssigned a new deal until 2028 with a release clause of 1 billion euros. Loanee Alex Valle has been suggested as a first-team option when he returns from Levante, while Las Palmas' Sergi Cardona has also been mentioned as a potential free option at the end of his contract, but both have been initially planned as back- ups to for Balde. Marcos Alonso will not continue beyond the end of this year.
