Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez is set to miss three weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 21-year-old sustained the injury while on international duty with Spain’s Under-21 squad and subsequently returned to Barcelona to undergo assessment and begin his recovery period.
Lopez, who has been capped twice at senior level by Spain, had been called up to Santi Denia’s squad for the upcoming Under-21 European Championship qualifiers against Hungary and Scotland.

The midfielder has made three appearances for Barcelona this season, all as a substitute including in Saturday’s seven-goal La Liga victory over Real Valladolid.
A graduate of the club’s La Masia youth system, Lopez broke into the club’s first-team squad last season and scored 11 goals across 42 appearances.
Lopez was part of Spain’s Euro 2024 squad, making a 28-minute substitute appearance against Albania in the group stage having previously been capped in a friendly match against Andorra earlier this year.
