Sky Germany reports that Barcelona made their first offer for attacker Dani Olmo a few days ago, but it was rejected by RB Leipzig.

The reason the offer was rejected was because it did not meet Leipzig’s expectations for the Spaniard. Leipzig is basing their valuation of Olmo on his €60m release clause that expired earlier this week, it was also previously said that the Saxony side wants a total package of €100m. Further discussions between Barca and Olmo took place this week.

Olmo is a product of the Barcelona academy but left in 2014 to move to Dinamo Zagreb where he made his breakthrough before moving to Leipzig.

The 26-year-old was one of the stand-out players in EURO 2024 where he not only claimed the Golden Boot with three goals and two assists, but he also contributed with a goal-line clearance right at the end of the final against England to ensure Spain won their fourth European Championship.

However, last season in the Bundesliga was and start for Olmo. He started off the season brightly with a hat-trick in the DFL Super Cup against Bayern Munich but after the opening games of the season suffered from injuries which affected his availability and he struggled to reach the same form again.
