Barcelona continue to face major financial problems this season as they run into the final hours of the year try to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor with the League, knowing that they will not be able to play the second half of the season if the League does not approve it. It's no surprise given his salary cap situation.
The president Joan Laporta had promised that Barcelona will be back in his salary limit this year, both in the summer and in the autumn with the signing of his new Nike sponsorship agreement. However, this was not the case. During one of his attempts to keep Olmo and Victor registered, the judge in his legal proceedings revealed that Barcelona's current salary is 153 million euros above his salary limit, as revealed by Chain SER.

That is to say, Barcelona are now €72m worse off in terms of their salary cap gap than they were after last summer's transfer window, when the figure was €81m – almost half that which is now. Barcelona spent 57.4 million euros to bring Victor and Olmo, and although there were new contracts to hand over, it is worried for them that, after the much-vaunted Nike deal, things have not not much improved.
Previously, it was reported that Barcelona had 60 million euros to be able to register Olmo and Victor, and they are trying to seal an agreement for the sale of commercial rights to their VIP boxes for 100 million euros. The deal will last for 20 years and will affect VIP seats at Camp Nou, and Barcelona are currently waiting for the green light from La Liga on the deal.
