Barcelona's third centre-back could leave before the end of the transfer window – destination on the table
Barcelona defends Eric Garcia he said two weeks ago that he would return to the club to stay after Spain won Olympic gold in Paris. Yet with five days to go in the transfer market, Garcia's situation remains up in the air.
After the exit of Clement Lenglet and Mikayil Faye, Garcia could be a third exit in defense before the end of the window. The 23-year-old enjoyed a strong season last year at Gerona on loan, and Barcelona's Catalan neighbors remain interested in him. They have been linked with a €15m move for Garcia, with Michel Sanchez admitting he is not sure what will happen with the former Manchester City man.
Marc Bernal's release clause will increase progressively as he reaches specific milestones in first team appearances. After his first 5 games, the clause increases from 5 million euros to 25 million. It will increase by another 5 million (to 30 million) after the next 10 matches…

Matteo Moretto informed Football España that he is one of the players who could still leave Barcelona in the final days of the transfer market, with Lenglet's deal and Vitor Roque's loan to Real Betis yet to be confirmed. Garcia's situation remains uncertain as Barcelona try to work to sign Dani Olmo as soon as possible.
Garcia was used in the end of the first two games of the League of Barcelona in the season, with Hansi Flick using it as a central midfielder alongside first Marc Casado and then Pedri to close the games. It seems that Jules Kounde will be used at right back as things stand, but Garcia still has Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez, Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo for the competition, although the Uruguayan is out of action for most of 2024.
