Bayer Leverkusen and unmanned Italian club looking to court Matthias Ginter

According to Florian Plettenberg, an unnamed Italian club and Bayer Leverkusen are looking to sign Freiburg centre-back Matthias Ginter.

As stated in the report, Freiburg value Ginter at €10–€12 million, and they would not be averse to selling the German this summer.

It is understood that an unnamed club from Serie A are pushing to get a deal over the line for the 2014 World Cup winner with immediate effect.

However, there is competition for Ginter’s signature, with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen considering making a move for the 30-year-old.

Nevertheless, it is believed that their interest is not as concrete as that coming out of Italy.

Ginter’s contract at the Europa-Park Stadion is not set to expire until 2026, meaning that Freiburg will not feel forced into selling the German, but as of yet, no decision on his future has been made and no agreement with any club has been completed.
