According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have begun negotiations regarding a swap deal between Christopher Nkunku and Mathys Tel.
As stated within the report, Tel has recently spoken to Vincent Kompany about wanting to be part of the club’s future and his ambitions to fight for his place within the starting XI.
However, the Premier League outfit have since questioned Der Rekordmeister about the Frenchman’s availability, with Bayern open to the idea of a possible move.
During these talks, the record champions asked Chelsea about Nkunku’s situation at Stamford Bridge, which opened the doors to a potential swap deal.
Nevertheless, since then, Florian Plettenberg has reported that Nkunku and Bayern have reached a full agreement over personal terms.
It is understood that Der Rekordmeister want to sign the former RB Leipzig forward, while Nkunku also has his heart set on a move to Bavaria.
As for Tel, it is believed that Bayern would only look to use him in a swap deal should they not be able to land Nkunku’s signature otherwise.
Including the 19-year-old in the move would make it financially easier for Bayern, but it is not a guarantee.
Regardless, securing Nkunku’s services is now a priority for Der Rekordmeister, having agreed to a long-term contract with the 27-year-old.
