As reported by Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are prepared to sell Joshua Kimmich in the summer.
It is understood that Der Rekordmeister are waiting for a suitable offer for the 29-year-old, who will be out of contract in 2025. As of yet, no new contract discussions between the midfielder and Bayern have begun, leaving Kimmich looking for a new challenge away from Bavaria.
According to the report, Kimmich would only be keen on a move to five European clubs: Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. However, as recently reported, Liverpool are currently leading the race to sign the German international regardless of Jürgen Klopp’s departure from the club.
While Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain have declared their interest in Kimmich, the player does not see his future at either of the three clubs.
A move away from Bayern for Kimmich was once perceived as impossible due to his position at the club. Nevertheless, due to the emergence of Aleksandar Pavlović, Kimmich’s importance to the Bayern midfield had significantly decreased, resulting in Thomas Tuchel utilising him as a right-back.
However, the 29-year-old only sees his future in the midfield, and with it currently unknown as to who will be in the Bayern dugout next season, there is no guarantee that Kimmich will win his place back. As well as this, Bayern are unwilling to match his €20 million annual salary, having seen his role diminish, leaving a move away from the club a real possibility.
