Bild reports that Bayern Munich’s bosses are critical of head coach Vincent Kompany’s style of playing following their 4-1 loss to Barcelona on Wednesday.
It is said that there is a debate over whether the Belgian style of play is too risky, especially in games such as the one against Barcelona on Wednesday. During the game, Bayern played a very high line and it was regularly exposed by Barcelona’s front four, with all four goals coming from a long ball being played over the Bayern backline.
Max Eberl is said to be the only one who seems to be supporting Kompany as the former Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director played a big role in bringing the Belgian to the Allianz Arena.
Bayern’s next run of games is against Bochum, Mainz and Union Berlin and to quiet the criticism around him he will have to convincingly beat them. In the past few weeks, Bayern have had a tough run of games against Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt, VfB Stuttgart and Barcelona. During this run, they have only won once, beating Stuttgart 4-0 last weekend.
