Over the past few weeks, Bayern Munich have not shied away from the fact that they are attempting to convince Jamal Musiala to sign a new deal with the club.
The 21-year-old’s current contract is set to expire in 2026, and Der Rekordmeister are hoping to seal an extension before the start of 2025.
This is because they are looking to avoid any transfer sagas such as the one currently ongoing with Alphonso Davies and Real Madrid.
Los Blancos are considered to be one of the sides who would consider courting Musiala should his contract run down heading into next season, and this is a scenario that Bayern do not want.
Therefore, as reported by Bild, the record champions have attempted to begin negotiations privately by conducting a secret meeting with Musiala in a backroom of one of Munich’s Käfer Delikatessen’s.
It is understood that the meeting went well with Max Eberl, Bayern’s director of sport, confirming to Musiala that he should be the face of the club moving forward, a statement he previously gave during an interview with Bild.
Nevertheless, any extension to Musiala’s deal will come down to finances, and there is an expectation that Der Rekordmeister will need to offer the midfielder an annual salary within the €20 million range to match the contracts of Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané, and Harry Kane.
