Bayern Munich will be without Serge Gnabry for the foreseeable future after the German forward suffered a hamstring injury in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Rekordmeister confirmed the news on Wednesday evening. This ultimately means that Gnabry will miss their Bundesliga clash against Cologne this weekend, as well as the return fixture against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday 17 April.
It was Gnabry that equalised for Bayern Munich after Bukayo Saka had put Mikel Arteta’s side in the lead on Tuesday, before the German fired his effort past David Raya after a defensive error. Harry Kane then put Bayern in the lead from the spot, before Leandro Trossard equalised for the Gunners 14 minutes from time.
All to play for at the Allianz Arena
With the tie level at 2-2, and the away goal rule abolished, it’s all to play for in the return leg. Arteta will be happy with his side’s performance in the attacking third but despite conceding just four goals in 2024 prior to last night’s draw, it was Arsenal’s defence that let them down.
As well as Gnabry, Bayern Munich will also be without Alphonso Davies in the second-leg after the Canadian picked up a yellow card on Tuesday, resulting in a one-game suspension.
