The Real Madrid squad is closed according to manager Carlo Ancelotti, despite continued reports that they could be in the market for a defender. The Blancos have only made two signings this summer, although one of them is of considerable prestige in Kylian Mbappe, and the other being Endrick Felipe is not low profile.
Although the various outlets based in Madrid continue to claim the right opportunity in the transfer market, they refer to a central defender. The other player in question is the Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Daviesthat the Blancos have been very linked.
Previous reports suggest that Real Madrid could make a move for him late in the transfer window, but Matteo Moretto explained that Davies is more likely to arrive on a free next summer than the end of this transfer window.
While Bayern had previously hoped to convince Davies to sign a new deal, or secure a €50m sale for the Canadian, the Bavarian giants have now agreed to let him leave on a free transfer next summer. He will be the second player to make this move in recent years, after David Alaba did the same.
