As reported by Sky Germany, Bayern Munich have made their move in the Alphonso Davies transfer saga by offering the Canadian a new deal.
As previously reported, Real Madrid are targeting the Bayern left-back, as they consider Davies to be a long-term solution on the left-hand side of their backline. As well as this, it is understood that Los Blancos have been in constant contact with Davies’ representatives, and a verbal agreement has been reached.
However, Bayern are not been willing to give up on their prized asset. The 23-year-old’s contract is not set to expire until 2025, meaning that if Der Rekordmeister fail to strike a new deal with the left-back, they face a conundrum: sell Davies this summer for a discounted price or lose him for free next year.
Nevertheless, the record champions are now looking to find an agreement with Davies. According to Sky Germany, the Bavarian outfit have placed a deal on the table, which would see the Canadian remain at the club until 2029, earning €13 million a year.
Regardless, it is far from Davies’ demands of €20 million a year—the supposed fee agreed with Real Madrid. Nonetheless, this will be Bayern’s final offer; if Davies rejects it, they will allow him to leave for Spain.
