Bayern Munich Predicted XI vs Wolfsburg: Vincent Kompany takes charge of his first Bundesliga game

Vincent Kompany takes charge of his first Bayern Munich game in the Bundesliga when his side travel to Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon. As per Kicker, the Belgian is expected to make two changes from the team that beat 2. Bundesliga side Ulm in the DFB Pokal last weekend.

Josip Stanišić is sidelined for several weeks after undergoing knee surgery, and so Konrad Laimer is expected to come in at right-back, with Joshua Kimmich – who was deployed at right-back last season under Thomas Tuchel – retains his place in central-midfield alongside Aleksandar Pavlović.

The other change is expected to see Jamal Musiala come in for Mathys Tel, who returns to the bench, despite impressing during pre-season. Although a place on the bench, Tel should play a big role for the Rekordmeister this campaign.

Should Thomas Müller start, as reported, then the 34-year-old will make history on Sunday making his 709th appearance for the club, matching the record of Sepp Maier.

And although returning to training after his endeavours with the France football team at the Olympics, summer arrival Michael Olise will likely start on the bench alongside his compatriot, with Serge Gnabry started ahead of the 22-year-old.
