Sky Germany reports that a possible move for Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich is back on, however, a move to Bavaria may be difficult to pull off.
Any possible move of Tah to Bayern can only materialise if Kingsley Coman can be sold, then the money from that move can then be used in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen are likely to demand around €30m which may be too much for Tah’s other suitors Barcelona, while Bayern need to sell before they can buy. This fee would then also allow Leverkusen to find themselves a replacement for Tah just only 24 hours left in the transfer window.
Speaking to Bild, Tah’s agent Pini Zahavi said:
‘”There have been several offers in recent weeks, all of which have been rejected despite his express wish. We want to avoid a player as deserving as Jona leaving the club for free next summer. That’s why we hope that we can find a solution in the short term that all parties can be happy with in the end.”
Zahavi then added:
“Jona made the decision to leave Bayer Leverkusen early this summer and communicated this to the club in several personal discussions. After nine years at Bayer, including the historic championship title last season, Jona now wants to take the next step in his career.”
Talks between Christoph Freund, Max Eberl and Zahavi have already taken place about opening the door again for a move to Bayern. The opening game of the Bundesliga season showed that Bayern need an extra centre-back who is good on the ball, but the reality is that Tah is not the strongest player on the ball so the German international’s arrival does not solve the issue at hand Bayern.
