Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has taken the first step towards extending Leroy Sané’s contract beyond 2025.
As reported by Sky Germany, the planned secret meeting between Eberl and Sané took place in downtown Munich last week. Eberl wanted to use the talks to get to know the German attacker better and in what was a good exchange, Eberl expressed his appreciation and sees the 28-year-old as a key player in the Rekordmeister’s attack.
It’s no secret that Eberl and Bayern want to extend Sané’s contract beyond 2025 and now the first step has taken place. However, no concrete negotiations took place in the secret meeting, ie. the length of Sané’s new deal or any figures.
Sky Germany further report contract negotiations between Bayern and Sané’s management are expected to gain momentum in the coming weeks and with the player open to extending his stay beyond 2025, an agreement could be reached before Euro 2024. But for now, full focus is on Bayern’s Champions League game against Real Madrid.
