Bayern Munich’s proposed starting XI for the 2024–25 campaign

On Sunday evening, Bayern Munich announced the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. In a move that could be worth up to €60 million, the right winger has become Der Rekordmeister’s second new signing in preparation for the 2024–25 campaign.

This is after the record champions triggered the release clause in Hiroki Ito’s contract at VfB Stuttgart earlier in the transfer window. With Vincent Kompany’s first two signings now through the door at the Säbener Straße, there is hope from the Bayern camp that another new acquisition will follow.

As previously reported, Der Rekordmeister have been attempting to lure Fulham’s João Palhinha away from the English capital for over a year now. However, after difficult negotiations with the Premier League outfit, a move seems to be close to completion.

If Bayern can secure the signing of Palhinha, then it is highly likely that Joshua Kimmich will be forced into the right-back position full-time, should he remain at the Allianz Arena this summer. With the Portuguese international taking Kimmich’s role as the number six, Ito could also look to dislodge a key figure in Bayern’s backline.

The Japanese international is naturally left-footed, unlike any other central defender within the Bayern ranks. For this reason, Kompany may look to establish Ito as a vital part of his backline, with either Kim Min-jae, Eric Dier, or Dayot Upamecano partnering him at the back.

Bayern Munich’s potential starting XI

Therefore, unless Bayern make any other additions to their side ahead of the upcoming campaign, this is how they are expected to start the campaign:

Manuel Neuer – Joshua Kimmich, Dayot Upamecano, Hiroki Ito, Alphonso Davies – João Palhinha, Aleksandar Pavlović – Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané – Harry Kane. (Sky Germany)
