Bayern Munich have today confirmed that Sacha Boey has suffered a meniscus tear and will be sidelined for several weeks.
Boey (24), who joined the club from Galatasaray for €30m in January, has suffered a difficult start to his career in Bavaria.
Upon his arrival in Germany, Boey missed 14 games across all competitions between February and May, while the player’s latest injury is another setback.
Bayern Munich confirmed that the Frenchman suffered the tear in his left knee during training on Sunday, and has already undergone a successful operation.
That means that Boey will miss Bayern Munich’s Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night, as well as Bundesliga games against Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen. It could also result in the right-back missing the game against Aston Villa in the Champions League on October 2.
Boey has featured in two of Bayern Munich’s three Bundesliga games this season, starting against Wolfsburg and Holstein Kiel.
