Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung reports that Hertha Berlin midfielder Bence Dardai is close to leaving the club and joining Wolfsburg.
It is reported that the Dardai was already in Wolfsburg to sign a contract ahead of a move in the summer. Dardai’s contract at Hertha expires in the summer and Wolfsburg will likely only have to pay some compensation for the 18-year-old.
Borussia Mönchengladbach also showed an interest in signing Dardai, but Wolfsburg beat them to the signing. Gladbach have previously when it comes to signing Hertha youth players with Luca Netz and Lukas Ullrich both moving from Berlin in the past few seasons.
Despite being in the 2.Bundesliga, Dardai has only played eight times for Hertha this season with most of his appearances coming off the bench.
Dardai’s departure from the capital club means he will leave behind brothers Marton and Palko, who regularly feature for the Hertha first team, as well as his father Pal, who is the head coach.
