Boca Juniors in talks to sign World Cup winner from Villarreal

It's been an incredibly frustrating 12 months for Juan Foyth. Last season, he made just 16 appearances due to a serious shoulder injury, and his problems have continued into the current campaign.

Foyth picked up another injury during pre-season, which meant he would be out of action for another month. In the meantime, speculation has resumed regarding a possible move away from La Ceramica.

According to Fernando Czyz (via Purple World), Boca Juniors is keen to sign Foyth, and discussions have already taken place with Villarreal. The Argentinian giants want to sign the 26-year-old by next summer, when they will take part in the 2025 Club World Cup.

It would be a big surprise if Villarreal allowed to make a deal. It was only last summer that they demanded €60 million from Barcelona for Foyth, and while he may have had injury problems since then, his prominence at the club hasn't diminished much. As such, Boca would surely have little chance of getting their man.
