Bochum to part ways with head coach Thomas Letsch

Multiple outlets report that Bochum are set to part ways with head coach Thomas Letsch after their 2-1 loss to 1.FC Köln at the weekend.

Bochum are currently three points clear of the relegation zone after their loss on Saturday but that seemingly isn’t enough to keep Letsch in the job as Bochum have not won a game since beating Bayern Munich 3-2 in February. An announcement is expected today (Monday).

Former Turkey head coach Stefan Kuntz and former Union Berlin manager Urs Fischer are candidates to replace Letsch and save the team with six games of the season remaining. The issue for Bochum is that they do not have any crucial games left against teams around them, their run-in consists of games against Heidenheim, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, UNion Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen.

At the weekend, Bochum were leading 1-0 and had looked to of secured a crucial three points against relegation rivals Köln but the team collapsed in the space of two minutes to lose 2-1 closing the game between them and a resurging Mainz who beat fellow strugglers Darmstadt 4-0 on Saturday.
