Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United future is in jeopardy after being excluded from the squad for their games against Fulham and Brighton. But contrary to reports, the Englishman will not be returning to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
As reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, when put to Dortmund officials, they dismissed reports of a return as “nonsense”. This also puts an end to the rumours of the Bundesliga side including Donyell Malen in a potential swap deal for Sancho.
Sancho, who spent the first six months of 2024 on loan at Borussia Dortmund – where he played between 2017 and 2021 – featured in 21 games across all competitions for Die Schwarzgelben last season, including seven times in the Champions League as BVB made it all the way to the final at Wembley, losing out to Real Madrid.
But where does Jadon Sancho see his footballing future?
The Guardian report that while Juventus are showing significant interest in signing Sancho on loan from Manchester United, the player is holding out for a move to fellow Premier League side Chelsea.
Talks between the two Premier League clubs have already taken place, while they’ve also discussed the potential of Raheem Sterling heading in the opposite direction to Old Trafford.
As we enter the final hours of the transfer window, Juventus and Chelsea appear to be the only two teams in the race to sign Sancho.
