According to Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund have pulled out of the race to sign Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
Die Schwarzgelben’s admiration for the Turkish full back has long been reported, and after a sensational display at Euro 2024, there was a belief that BvB would look to lure the 24-year-old to the Westfalenstadion.
However, it is understood that Dortmund have been priced out of a move for Kadıoğlu. The new Fenerbahçe head coach, José Mourinho, considers the right-footed left-back too important to let go in the hunt for the Süper Lig title.
Nevertheless, the Turkish side would be prepared to allow the 24-year-old to leave should a bid within the region of €35 million come in. This has seen Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion emerge as favourites to secure Kadıoğlu’s signature this summer.
Regardless, Dortmund are unable to afford the lucrative fee demanded by Fenerbahçe and are now considering other alternatives.
