Bild reports that new Borussia Dortmund signing Serhou Guirassy will be out until at least September with a knee injury.
Guirassy picked up the injury while on international duty with Guinea in the June international break and this injury nearly put his move to Dortmund at risk, however further medical tests indicated that he would not need surgery and would have to instead work on a recovery plan.
The striker is expected to be out until September and will miss Dortmund’s first three competitive fixtures against 1.FC Phönix Lübeck in the DFB Pokal and games against Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. It is currently expected that Guirassy will make his debut against Heidenheim on September 13th.
Dortmund currently have a striker problem as the arrival of Guirassy means that they have four senior strikers. Reports suggest that the writing is on the wall for Sebastien Haller and he is the striker that is likely to leave the club this summer as Niclas Füllkrug remains an important player in the Dortmund team and Youssoufa Moukoko will try to fight for his place in the squad.
