Sky Germany reports that the release clause of Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi expires at the end of this month (July).
The clause is said to be worth €10m but regardless if anyone does not trigger the clause before the deadline, then a transfer in August is still not out of the question. Elvedi signed a contract extension last summer until 2027, but it now increasingly looks like his time at Borussia Park is coming to an end.
Wolves are said to have renewed their interest in the Swiss international with initial talks between the pair taking place. The Premier League side were interested in Elvedi last summer but no transfer was able to materialise.
Last season, Elvedi played 33 times for Gladbach as they had a terrible season which saw them finish 14th in the Bundesliga and crash out of the DFB-Pokal against third-tier side Saarbrucken. The Swiss international was also able to earn a call-up for EURO 2024 but did not feature at all for the side.
