Justin Kluivert has become the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick from penalties in Bournemouth's 4-2 victory over Wolves.

Ken Barnes was the last player to do so in the league for Manchester City against Everton 67 years ago.

Bent might have been the first to do so in 2010, when playing for Sunderland against Tottenham, as he scored one and missed two in a 3-1 win.

Speaking on air, he said: “I could have been the one to make the story because I remember against Spurs I took three, missed two and scored one.”

Kluivert rose to send it into the bottom right corner, before going in the opposite direction in the 17th minute.

Bournemouth's second penalty of the game came as a result of José Sa inadvertently removing Evanilson after the former Porto star passed the ball to him as the goalkeeper prepared to make a pass.

And it was Sa who committed another penalty in the second half after colliding with the 25-year-old.

This time, Kluivert launched his shot from 12 yards into the bottom right corner to write his name in history.

Kluivert has already scored five goals in the Premier League this season, just two shy of equaling his tally from last season.

Four of his goals came from penalties and he also found the back of the net with a penalty in the 2-0 win over Arsenal in October.

The result lifts Bournemouth to 11th place in the table, just one point behind Newcastle in 10th place.

As for the Wolves, they have failed to make it three straight wins and their loss left them in 18th place.
