Bruno Fernandes sends touching 'magician' message to Manchester United as he reflects on his iconic shirt number
Bruno Fernandes sent an admirable message to Juan Mata when reflecting on wearing the number 8 shirt at Manchester United.

The Spaniard won the Europa League, the League Cup and the Community Shield in Unitedand scored a crucial equaliser in their 2016 FA Cup Final victory over Crystal Palace.
After scoring 51 goals and assisting 43 others in 285 appearances, Mata left the club for Galatasaray in 2022, leaving the number 8 vacant.
Fernandes He was the man who took over after his teammate left and has now revealed what a great honour it was to do so.
“It was a privilege to receive the jersey number from you, wizard,” he said on his Instagram story.
Fernandes was responding to a post by Score 90 which featured a series of 'before and after' images of some iconic United shirts.
First on the list was summer signing Leny Yoro, who chose the number 15 previously worn by club legend Nemanja Vidic.
Other comparisons include new arrivals Joshua Zirkzee and Ryan Giggs in the No. 11, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney in the No. 10, and Mason Mount and Cristiano Ronaldo in the No. 7.
Fernandes has certainly proven his worth since taking on the number 8, which was also previously worn by Rooney, Giggs and even the great Sir Bobby Charlton.

In three seasons in the shirt, he has scored 39 goals and provided 41 assists in 153 appearances in all competitions.
The Portuguese international also won the FA Cup and League Cup during that time, as well as being named club captain last season.
Fernandes is now entering his fifth season at United and will hope the legendary shirt continues to help him achieve success.
He has yet to play any pre-season games but will lead his side out at Wembley for their season-opener against Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 10.
