Can Arsenal sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen next summer?

As reported by Christian Falk, the midfield maestro wishes to leave B04 next summer in order to compete for titles elsewhere, challenge for the Champions League, and possibly be in the position to win the Ballon d’or.

Leverkusen will be demanding upwards of €150m for Wirtz in the summer of 2025, although it wouldn’t be surprising to see him go for somewhere just over the €100m mark.

If Arsenal are to secure the signing on Wirtz, they’re going to have to compete with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City.

In order for Arsenal to stand any chance, the gunners must use this season to prove themselves worthy amongst Europe’s elite.

Arsenal in the Shop Window

Let’s be real for a minute, Florian Wirtz will be able to go anywhere he wants to next summer. It’ll all be about what his next club can give him and how they’re in position to challenge for trophies both domestically and in Europe.

For the likes of Bayern, Man City, and Real Madrid, this isn’t a problem. They can give promises to Wirtz that they’ll be hunting down domestic titles, Champions Leagues, and everything in between.

However, Arsenal aren’t quite there yet which is why this season is crucial for them if they want to attract the next world talent.

For Arsenal to stand any chance of signing Wirtz and persuading his entourage that this is the club for him, they either have to win the Premier League or the Champions League this season.

If Arsenal can prove that they can get the better of Pep’s City over the course of 38 games and that they’re reaching the final phases of the Champions League, they may stand a chance.

This would make Arsenal look like the new kids on the block. The team that has just arrived, and with the likes of Wirtz in the heart of midfield, are ready to dominate once again.

This is a big season for Arsenal. Not just for their fans and the prospect of winning a major trophy, but for attracting the next generational talents.
