Real Madrid have decided to replace the injured David Alaba and the retired Toni Kroos in the transfer market this summer, but they have sanctioned an addition to their coaching team. It appears Stockport's assistant county manager Andy Mangan was arriving to bolster his staff but was refused a work permit.
According to ReliefCarlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff have once again asked for an extra coach to help out, feeling they are understaffed. I believe that the next step to improve performances is to bring someone else to help work on tactical and technical ideas. Currently Ancelotti's staff consists of eight members; assistant Davide Ancelotti, goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis, coach Francesco Mauri, technical analyst Simone Montanaro, technical and fitness coach Mino Fulco and fitness coach Antonio Pintus, as well as two video analysts.

It is noted that the staff of Unai Emery in Aston Villa consists of 20 members, while Marcelino Garcia Toral is closer to thirty in Villarreal. It has led to the coaching staff taking over tasks such as the pieces or training exercises that are not necessarily given, while Davide Ancelotti and Mauri deal almost exclusively with the tactical part. They feel that the club would be better if it were allowed to divide the load more, and specialize in specific areas.
Real Madrid is not necessarily against adding another coach, but is not willing to bring only another body, and they want a coach of value. Part of the reason is that they don't want to disturb the current harmony between the current staff and the players. If they are going to bring in someone, they want it to be a coach who stays after Ancelotti is gone. Ancelotti and his staff has people in mind, but it comes to the decision of the club.
Chances are that Davide Ancelotti and Mauri leave to launch their own coaching careers once Carlo leaves or he is fired. The fitness team and Llopis are likely to remain, but Montanaro is another part of the staff that could follow Ancelotti if they leave. Clearly the failed recruitment of Mangan indicates that Blancos are willing to act though.
