Celta Vigo are in talks to buy a majority stake in Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira, according to the latest reports from the Iberian Peninsula.
The Galician part are partners with an Ecuadorian investment group, to which Independiente del Valle belongs, and are looking to buy an 80% share. Portuguese Document Record, as brought by Reliefsay that the negotiation period has been extended by two weeks. The current offer is around 10 million euros. Celta denied that Gestifute, the agency managed by the super-agent Jorge Mendes are involved in the discussions, although they have been in contact with him.
President Marian Mourinho has admitted talks with Pacos and other clubs, in an attempt to expand his scouting network and player development paths. Currently Pacos are in the second tier in Portugal, and the city is a few hours by car from Vigo, which is just over the Spanish border. Therefore, Celta has always had close ties with Portuguese football.
