According to Florian Plettenberg, a number of English Championship clubs are showing interest in SK Rapid Wien head coach Robert Klauß.
Having been appointed as the Austrian club’s new head coach in November 2023, Klauß has been able to turn the fortunes of Rapid Wien around, helping guide the club to Europa Conference League qualification last season.
As well as this, Die Grün-Weißen currently occupy second spot in the Austrian Bundesliga, sitting three points behind SK Sturm Graz.
However, should Klauß depart Rapid Wien, then it is understood that the club’s director of sport, Markus Katzer, would also follow suit.
Before moving to Austria, Klauß was in charge of FC Nürnberg for a little over two years, where he was unable to inspire Der Club back to the Bundesliga.
Nevertheless, this has failed to deter sides from the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, who are also monitoring his situation at Rapid Wien.
With his contract set to expire in 2026, his future is deemed to be open, as a move away from Austria would appear likely between now and the summer.
