Chelsea They have been interested in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli for much of the summer, but a deal has failed to materialise for a number of reasons, with the Serie A side's demands being a crucial one.
However, with the transfer With the transfer window drawing to a close and Romelu Lukaku joining Napoli, the club are under pressure to offload Victor Osimhen and the Blues are yet to cool their interest in him.
TEAMTalk has reported “They are prepared to offer” Osimhen a huge pay rise if he arrives at Stamford Bridge. He could earn £325,000 a week, almost double the £180,000 a week he currently earns at Napoli.
The report adds that an offer submitted by a Saudi Arabian club is in the region of £400,000 a week, but Osimhen's preference is to continue playing in Europe.
TEAMTalk also adds that Napoli have significantly reduced their asking price for the striker. A deal could now be agreed for as little as £60m, a much lower sum than the £111m release clause the Neapolitans wanted to be paid earlier.
Chelsea on the verge of a big win in the transfer window
Chelsea could pull off a major coup on the final day of the auction if they can land Osimhen for just over half the initial asking price. Much of that is down to their decision to negotiate Romelu Lukaku's exit in a separate deal rather than a potential swap deal.
With the Belgian joining Napoli, the club are even more keen to offload the Nigerian international, as he is unlikely to re-enter Antonio Conte's plans after having missed out on any possible action under the new manager so far.
Lukaku's departure has allowed Chelsea to pay a huge wage to Osimhen and the potential exit of Raheem Sterling could help their cause even further.Liverpool The star is not part of Enzo Maresca's plans and is likely to leave the club before the weekend.
It will be exciting to watch Osimhen at Chelsea. The Blues are still in active talks with Napoli and the move could be finalised very quickly given that there are only a few hours left in the transfer window.
