Chelsea bomb squad member Ben Chilwell was given a lifeline at Stamford Bridge by Enzo Maresca after being named in the Premier League squad
Ben Chilwell has been included in Chelsea's latest 25-man Premier League squad and the player is set to return to first-team training.
The left back had been Exiled from Enzo Maresca's first team after having become surplus to requirements.
Chilwell had been offered to teams with Manchester United Exploring a deal in the summer.
No move materialised and talkSPORT understands he will now remain in west London until 2025.
The former Leicester City The full-back was one of several players cut from the first-team squad last month following Maresca's arrival and was advised to leave in the hope of first-team football.
Chilwell has not been in the squad for each of Chelsea's first three Premier League games.
After failing to secure a transfer from Stamford Bridge before transfer deadline day, he has been linked with a move to the Turkish Super Lig, whose transfer window remains open until Friday evening.
But his immediate future lies with Chelsea, with the defender included in their updated 25-man squad list to compete in the top flight this season.
And after being excluded from first-team training, he is now ready to be welcomed back into the group.
Although the 27-year-old will not be competing in Europe after being left out of Chelsea's Europa Conference League squad.
Maresca seemingly opened the door for his return when he spoke at his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday night's clash at Bournemouth. Live on talkSPORT.
He said: “Ben is probably the only one still here so we will sit down with him and find solutions.

“He is not training with us at the moment, but from now on we have to sit down with him and find the right solution.”
'The reason he's training separately is because the idea was for him to leave.
“But since we haven't found a solution, he will probably start training with us, we have to decide that.
“When we decide that, he will be one of the players.”
Pressed on Chilwell's mentality, Maresca said: “I think he's good, to be honest.
“As I said, he's not training with us, but I can see, I saw him this morning, that he's fine.”
The defender has scored nine goals in 106 appearances since joining from Leicester in 2020.
His time at the club has been hampered by injuries, missing a total of 107 games since his £45million transfer.
