Chelsea expect to sign the La Liga starlet for €25-26 million

It looks increasingly likely that Villarreal are set for another big money sale – their fourth in the last 12/13 months. Last summer, they parted ways with Nicolas Jackson, Pau Torres and Samuel Chukwueze, and now it looks like Filip Jorgensen could be on his way out as well.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Chelsea had submitted an offer of 20 million euros for Filip Jorgensen, who is highly appreciated by his new manager, Enzo Maresca. This offer is probably rejected, but as Fabrizio Romano said The Daily Briefingthat won't deter the Premier League giants.

“Jorgensen has a release clause of 45 million euros, but Chelsea are offering 20 million euros, and they have an internal feeling that a deal could be done for something like 25-26 million euros. The negotiations are ongoing, but the feeling is positive as Jorgensen has already agreed on personal terms with Chelsea – salary, duration of the contract, everything is fine.

“It's a work in progress, but Chelsea have entered the race strongly. The deal looks likely, and I expect Jorgensen to compete with Robert Sanchez for the top spot. In the end, it's up to Maresca, so we'll have to see, but we know that we value goalkeepers with good distribution like Jorgensen.

If Jorgensen leaves, Villarreal he will need to find another goalkeeper. It is likely that they will be looking for a player to compete with Diego Conde, who joined from Leganes earlier in the summer – he would be in possession of the starting spot if the sale of Jorgensen is confirmed.
