Chelsea face having to drop asking price for Conor Gallagher if they are to sell the England star to Atletico Madrid, with the clubs still £20m apart in their valuations

Chelsea face the prospect of dropping their asking price if they are to agree terms with Atletico Madrid for Conor Gallagher.
The Spanish side are pushing for agreement at around £35million with add ons for the England international who was valued at over £55m at the start of the summer.
Indeed, negotiations with Aston Villa over a deal for Gallagher earlier in the window are understood to have reached around the £57m mark for the 24-year old as well as a separate deal for a Villa player.
Atletico proposed around £20m for Gallagher a few weeks ago but that was rejected and they have now returned confident of striking a deal with Chelsea following talks over the last 48 hours.
Gallagher has still to agree to the move however as he assesses his options.

He could opt to remain at Chelsea although is aware, with his contract running down, the club are eager to avoid losing him for nothing.
There is also the possibility, once a price is set with Atletico, that Tottenham return to the table as they retain a long-held interest after seeing offers rebuffed a year ago.
