The Blues had to settle for a 2-2 draw against a relegation-threatened Clarets team who were a one-man disadvantage for half the match.

The boos sounded at Stamford Bridge at the end of a result that leaves Chelsea in 11th place in the Premier League and fighting to reach Europe.

Mauricio Pochettino's team has been in poor shape since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital completed their acquisition in 2022.

And former Chelsea star Leboeuf could not contain his anger at the owners as he and his fellow fans struggle to see the positives.

“I'm sorry, the people on the board destroyed that club,” he said in a furious speech about ESPN. “That's what you have to deal with and how are you going to rebuild it?

“I don't know, it's going to take a long time, but you have to change your way of thinking.

“Stop the training business, buy some experienced players in the summer market, otherwise you will face the same problems next season.”

Although he complained about the team's lack of experience, Leboeuf did not hesitate to criticize the players considering they played against ten men for much of the match.

“I'm fed up, in fact, I'm fed up because you think something is going to happen. You say: 'Ok, the season is over but you're going to play Burnley, they play 11 against ten, so', they're going to win.”

“And they disappear, nothing happens. You're 1-0 (up) at half-time, you come back and after three minutes you concede a goal, then you try to play a little bit, score another goal.

“You say, 'Okay, okay,' and then it's terrible and, as you showed, they should have lost that game 11 against ten. 'Chelsea Football Club' against, with all due respect, Burnley, that's the end of it, for me that's the end.

Financial expert Stefan Borson sends Chelsea ominous warning over future FFP charges

“I want to congratulate the fans for being able to go to Stamford Bridge to see that, I mean, come on. That's not fair to the fans, it's not fair to the history of Chelsea Football Club and to the former player that I am.

“And some others who are watching are so shocked by the situation. It's unfair to all those people and I don't know what they're doing there. The players, as I've talked before, have no resistance, nothing in their heart, nothing in their brain, They do not know what to do.

“You play 11 against ten, you have to thrash the team you're playing against, and you let them come back and almost lose that game? Come on, that's not professional, it's unfair again to those people who love that club.”

Chelsea face a tough test against Manchester United on Thursday and know they have to win to keep any hopes of qualifying for Europe alive.

Games against Arsenal and Tottenham are also coming up and they will also face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals.
