Mykhailo Mudyrk appears to have taken John Obi Mikel's advice by sporting a new look ahead of the new season.
The Ukrainian showed signs of finding his best form in the second half of last season following his £89m move from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023.
Things have not gone exactly to plan for the 23-year-old during his 18-month stay at Stamford Bridge despite shining regularly for his national team.
But now it seems Mudryk is serious after apparently following Mikel's advice.
The former Blues midfielder gave an interview last month insisting that Mudryk must realign his approach to get the best out of himself.
And that included making some adjustments to her appearance.
“Mudryk, he needs to improve his game, he needs… I was going to swear that he needs to improve his game because he is a very good player, with pace, power, speed and he is good with the ball,” Mikel told The Obi One Podcast.
“But he has to do things right, he has to forget about his hair, about everything, about tattoos, no! Play football and win games.”
Mudryk has now taken action by shaving off her signature blonde locks to wear them shorter, as she posted on her Instagram page on Monday.
After being notified of the new look, Mikel was quick to give his seal of approval in a social media post, adding: “Come on.”
The winger hopes his new style will give him the boost he needs to return to playing form next season when the Blues return to European competition.
Mudryk was a key component in Chelsea's late-season winning streak, which saw them finish sixth in the league despite spending much of the campaign in the bottom half of the table.
Only four players featured more times than the Ukrainian last season, who scored five goals and provided two assists in 31 league games.
And his efforts mean he will get his first taste of continental action with the west London club when Chelsea play in the Europa Conference League.
The Blues are preparing for a first campaign under new manager Enzo Maresca and begin the Italian's era with a home clash against Manchester City the opening day of the season.
