Chelsea have been linked to the movement for Aston Villa Forward Ollie Watkins, according to a report from team talk.
The 28-year-old player has established himself as one of the best forwards in the first division and Chelsea see in him a possible solution to their scoring problems.
The Blues signed Nicolas Jackson at the beginning of the season, but the former Villarreal striker has not been able to live up to expectations. Chelsea will need to bring in a quality striker who can lead the line and score goals consistently.
Watkins has established himself as a reliable player in the Premier League and has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season. The 28-year-old England international has also collected 10 assists along the way.
Watkins is certainly good enough to play for the country's top clubs and could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Chelsea if they can agree a deal.
The Blues hope to compete for major trophies in the coming seasons and need quality players like him to be on par with the likes of Arsenal and city of manchester.
Watkins could transform Chelsea
Watkins is at the peak of his career at the moment, but it remains to be seen if they can persuade Villa to part ways. The TeamTalk report says there is no chance of Watkins leaving this month, but the Blues could test Villa's resolve in the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino needs to plug the holes in his attack to be able to compete for major trophies, and Watkins could prove to be a big coup for the Argentine coach.
As well as Watkins, the report says Chelsea are also keeping an eye on the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Jhon Duran, while they are hoping to sign Karim Benzema on a short-term deal this month.
