Cole Palmer fires in incredible double in added time as Chelsea claim dramatic win over Man United in thriller
Cole Palmer scored two goals in added time to give Chelsea a shock victory over Manchester United in what will go down as one of the games of the season.
Chelsea took a 2-0 lead in 20 minutes thanks to a Conor Gallagher Opener and a cool Palmer penalty as you like.
Man United then appeared to have sealed their own stunning comeback in the second half.
Alejandro Garnacho scored twice and Bruno Fernandes also found the net to leave Chelsea completely stunned.
But it was the Blues who had the last laugh in a match that proved truly unpredictable.
Diogo Dalot conceded a penalty after bringing down Noni Madueke, which was converted by penalty specialist Palmer to put the Blues level at 3-3.
But the game didn't end there.
With the game in its final moments, Palmer had the ball, unmarked, on the edge of the Man United box.
The 21-year-old sent a deadly ball in the 11th minute of stoppage time off the back of Andre Onana after hitting Scott McTominay en route to sealing a 4-2 victory.
The goal marked Palmer's first senior hattrick and made history by becoming the last goal scored in the Premier League. He has already been involved in 24 goals this season.
When asked what the hell just happened on TNT Sports, he said: “I don't know. 2-0 up, but we made stupid mistakes, but when we saw eight minutes in, he gave us a left and it was crazy.” .
“Winning like this is like nothing I've ever experienced.
“Scoring at the last minute is crazy.”
It's surprising to think Palmer signed from Manchester City just last summer, where he scored six goals in 41 appearances.
