Cole Palmer's latest heroics for Chelsea have seen him compared to Premier League icons Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard.
The 21-year-old scored a hat-trick on Thursday night. 4-3 victory over Manchester United, where he scored two goals in added time to inspire a stunning comeback.
And for talkSPORT Jamie O'Hara and Jermaine Pennant, Palmer's influence on Chelsea This season he has been on par with two of the best players in the Premier League in recent years.
Speaking on The Sports Bar after the seven-goal thriller, O'Hara claimed the England international's goals have kept up under pressure Coach Mauricio Pochettino at work.
The ex-Tottenham The midfielder said: “You've saved your job, Palmer!”
He went on to say, “Seeing you tonight, it reminds me, Pochettino with Cole Palmer at the end, and the way Cole Palmer walks up to him and gives him a hug.
“Almost reminds me of when Gareth Bale I was at Tottenham and Gareth Bale basically single-handedly ran that team.
“It reminds me a little bit of that, that's where I think Cole Palmer can go, that's the level he's at.”
Pennant agreed, before comparing Palmer, who now has more implications on objectives than Jude Bellingham this season, to a great Chelsea.
He commented: “He is your Danger of Eden. He is an Eden Hazard of the past.”
The comparison Palmer's pair make to the Champions League-winning duo is certainly high praise, but their statistics suggest a similar importance to their team as the former stars during their time in England.
Palmer's hat-trick took his goal tally to 16 this Premier League season, the second-highest in the league, while he also has the third-most assists, with eight to his name.
With eight league games remaining, Palmer is on course to challenge BulletThe 21-goal campaign for Spurs in the 2012/13 season, in which the Welshman won the Premier League Player of the Season award.
And the English international has already equalized DangerThe best goal score in the top category: 16, which he registered in the 2016/17 and 2018/19 campaigns.
But Palmer's season is arguably even more impressive considering his eye-catching performances have come in a mid-table Chelsea team, with their victory over United taking them up to 10th place.
The Londoners are two points behind West Ham in seventh place, having played two fewer games, and O'Hara was quick to point out that they remain in contention for European football thanks to their main man.
He said: “Chelsea are still in the fight for European football. They have games in hand, they are back on the front page, they are up to tenth place and they are not far behind West Ham.
Referring to United's result, he added: “So it's still all up for grabs for Chelsea, and that could change their season, and Cole Palmer is at the forefront of that.
“Incredible, what a player! And he really reminds me of what Pochettino had in Gareth Bale.”
Chelsea fans will be hoping for more inspiration from Palmer in their upcoming clash against bottom of the table Sheffield United on Sunday.
