Preston manager breaks silence with confession after 4-0 loss to Chelsea
Preston head coach Ryan Lowe admitted the Blues had more quality than his Preston team following their 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Chelsea won 4-0 thanks to second-half goals from Armando Broja, Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling and Enzo Fernandez.
Lowe said: “The scoreboard reflects the scoreboard. We are disappointed with three of the goals. We needed to stop the center and then there were some mistakes that led to quality players punishing us.
“We were fantastic for 58 minutes. I'm proud of the boys and they did everything we asked of them. Sometimes quality players beat you and that's what happened today.
“These guys have played 27 games so far. Chelsea have good quality players and they are probably a little more robust than others.
“Three goals in 11 minutes was the damage. But the boys had a fantastic day and we have to turn those 58 minutes into 90+5 minutes against Bristol City and we will be fine.
“There are some things we could stop, but there are good movements from quality players, so there is no shame in coming here and being beaten by a good team like Chelsea.
“We have to put in a performance like that for 95 minutes, but I've seen a lot of the guys to show what we can do.”
