Conor Coady details the lengths to which two Liverpool players went to try to get Jude Bellingham to join the team
Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold moved heaven and earth to try and tempt Jude Bellingham to Liverpool.
That's according to Conor Coady, who says the duo were very interested in the midfielder's case for the 2022 World Cup.
After two and a half years with Borussia DortmundBellingham had the world's top teams vying for his signature as England headed to Qatar.
real Madrid were heavily linked with Bellingham, while Manchester City and Bayern Munich were also interested, but two of Bellingham's England teammates clearly had their own idea about where the wonderkid should move next.
Speaking to BBC 5Live, Coady said: “I think Hendo and Trent tried with Jude (to get him to sign). In the World Cup, yes, 100 per cent.
“They marked it,” Coady laughed. “The man marked his life.

“I think those two tried and if you're in a club like that you would do it, right? Of course you would.
“When you know he's going to leave in the summer, which was pretty well known, right?, there were all these clubs that wanted to sign him.
“So, with 100 percent certainty, you would do it.
“Oh, it was (every mealtime) and they were on either side of him. One was always sitting on one side and on the other side.
“And we were all sitting there and talking about how great it was Liverpool “I mean, how good Jurgen Klopp is and all that kind of stuff, and we'd all be sitting there eating something and listening to them.”
Despite the best efforts of Henderson and Alexander-Arnold, Bellingham decided to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £88m.
His debut season wasn't bad either, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists to help Real Madrid to glory in LaLiga and the Champions League.
