Contract length and salary for Wojciech Szczesny revealed as goalkeeper answers question about Barcelona's interest
Barcelona appear to be closing in on a deal for former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, with the Polish goalkeeper coming out of retirement almost exactly a month after making the announcement. The 34-year-old would arrive as a free agent, although Barcelona still have to negotiate with the Bianconeri.
The Blaugrana are currently in talks to sign Szczesny, and are now discussing a deal with Juventus – they had included a penalty clause if he were to join a new team. Barcelona will try to reach an agreement to reduce that clause.
Meanwhile Szczesny was asked by MD about the interest of Barcelona, but he preferred instead to give his support to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who in theory would replace him.
“I just hope Marc gets better soon, he's a good friend and a great goalkeeper, and I wish him the best. That's all I can say.”

Meanwhile Sport following a report that Szczesny has agreed terms with Barcelona, revealing that his deal will only last until next summer, and he will earn around 3 million euros, with bonuses on top. Neither party closes the door to extending that deal if all parties are happy. however, an agreement will be reached or the talks will be scrapped this week.
They also note that he is attracted by the idea not only of playing for Barcelona, but of sharing a dressing room with his friend, Robert Lewandowski.

While the situation is far from ideal for Barcelona, after having to look for a replacement for ter Stegen, Szczesny is a good level of goalkeeper to be able to put in. will sign the starting goalkeeper of Juventus, as well as one of the best stoppers of Euro 2024.
