Huge security questions have been raised after Manchester United's dressing room was reportedly bugged.

It is understood that the incident occurred during the past Sunday's 0-0 draw with Aston Villa at Villa Park.

the sun report that a prankster sneaked into the Villa Park dressing room and hid the device two days before the goalless draw.

The device was hidden in a place out of sight and the microphone was activated when called.

The Sun has not published the recordings, but says Ten Hag's instructions are clearly audible.

The prankster tried to collect the device the next day.

Reacting to the incident, former Premier League striker Carlton Cole said: “That's the era we're in now. We have to secure what we have right now.

“For a football club there is confidentiality and not everyone needs to know your business, especially in the locker room. If they can't ensure that, then it will cause a big problem.

“We are facing a moment in which everything is based on information. Everyone wants information. I know this was just a joke, but it could have been a lot worse.

“This needs to be looked at by security and everyone needs to take it very seriously.”

He set the unenviable record for the Red Devils' worst ever start to the Premier League, taking just eight points from seven games. They currently occupy 14th place in the table.

Ten Hag went on holiday during the international break, hoping to be in charge when club football starts again.

The Red Devils held a pre-planned summit meeting on Tuesday and Ten Hag's future is believed to be high on the agenda.

Thomas Tuchel, Thomas Frank and Gareth Southgate are all admired by the United hierarchy.

However, Southgate has seemingly ruled out an imminent return to management, while Tuchel is believed to be interested in the England job.
