'C**p' Andre Onana criticized by Man United fans as ball slips out of his hands for Conor Gallagher's Chelsea goal
Manchester United fans expressed their frustrations with Andre Onana after he failed to stop Conor Gallagher's first goal for Chelsea.
Just four minutes into the clash at Stamford Bridge, Malo Gusto's cross deflected off Raphael Varane and into the path of Gallagher, and the Blues academy graduate put his team ahead.
But the ball slipped under United goalie Onana Replays showed he participated in the effort but was unable to prevent it, and fans on social media were dissatisfied with his efforts.
Addressing X, one said: “I just saw it again, Onana should save it. She's poor.”
“That's some Onana shit…” added talkSPORT's Mark Goldbridge.
A third said: “We signed Onana because he could use his feet, but that's no use when you refuse to use them to try and stop shots.”
“Onana should have stopped it. It wasn't a hard shot to save,” added a fourth.
Things got worse for Erik ten Hag's men in the 19th minute, when former Manchester City player Cole Palmer scored a penalty after Antony brought down Marc Cucurella in the area.
Onana has conceded 63 goals in his debut season for United, in 41 appearances in all competitions.
It is also the 20th time he has conceded at least two goals during a match for the club.
United responded soon after when Alejandro Garnacho raced towards goal and beat Djordje Petrovic.
Moments later, Bruno Fernandes equalized the score with an unmarked header to the far post.
