According to kicker, Crystal Palace have agreed to sign VfL Wolfsburg centre-back Maxence Lacroix.
It had previously been reported that the Premier League outfit were keen on luring the Frenchman to Selhurst Park before the end of the transfer window as a replacement for Joachim Andersen, who recently departed for Fulham.
However, now it appears as though the move is close to being completed, with both sides agreeing on a fee for the 24-year-old.
It is understood that Wolfsburg were hoping to receive €25 million for the defender, while Palace were only keen on spending around €15 million.
Nevertheless, a meet in the middle agreement has been made with Palace paying a reported €18 million with €3 million in potential future add-ons.
As stated in the report, Die Wölfe will look to find a successor for Lacroix and have already identified their preferred replacement in Strasbourg’s Ismaël Doukouré.
Despite this, they may be forced to look elsewhere, with the Ligue 1 outfit demanding a lucrative fee for the 21-year-old’s services.
