As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace are considering signing Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Odilon Kossounou.
It had previously been reported that Kossounou has his heart set on a possible move to the Premier League.
Having been offered to extend his deal at the BayArena, the 23-year-old informed Die Werkself that he would consider his options before renewing a new deal at the club.
While the Eagles have already stated their interest in luring Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix to Selhurst Park this summer, they could have a change of heart and target Kossounou instead.
However, ultimately, Palace will only look to sign defensive reinforcement this summer if Marc Guéhi departs.
Newcastle United have already seen one bid rejected for the England international, but if they can match Palace’s valuation, then Eddie Howe’s side may be able to complete a deal.
This would then, in turn, force Palace to find a successor for Guéhi, with Kossounou and Lacroix currently their two leading targets.
